Aymeric Amand

Policy Officer

Aymeric Amand is a Policy Officer at Sandbag working on EU carbon pricing (ETS, CBAM) and industrial decarbonisation (steel, aluminium, cement). He is leading Sandbag’s research and advocacy efforts on carbon capture technologies (CCS/U) and carbon dioxide removals (CDR). He has also been actively monitoring the EU-US negotiations on the Global Arrangement for Sustainable Steel and Aluminium and US legislative proposals for a carbon border tax.

Prior to joining Sandbag, Aymeric was conducting research on EU gas and hydrogen policies for climate think tank E3G. He has also worked for FTI Consulting on sustainable finance and EU environmental policies. He holds a BA (Hons) and a MA in Geography from the University of Cambridge, a MSc in Environment and Sustainable Development from University College London, and a MA in European Political and Governance Studies from the College of Europe.
